Serhii Hamchenko’s personal fund contains a lot of documents about the activities of museums and museum staff from different regions of Ukraine. Reports, notes, scientific papers, estimates, registers, minutes of meetings, lists of given Archaeological Excavation Permit documents, etc. allow modern researchers to learn not only about the work of the Volyn Research Museum (in Zhytomyr), but also other institutions with which the famous scientist worked – Tulchynska and Shepetivka district local history Museum, Cherkasy district Taras Shevchenko Museum, Dnipropetrovsk Regional Historical and Archaeological and other museums. Serhii Hamchenko personally contributed to the professional development of archaeologists – museum staff, replenishment of collections, acquisition of professional literature. Materials on solving S.S. GHamchenko’s personal housing problems had also been preserved, as for several years of his “Kyiv period” the archaeologist lived in the building No. 24 in the State Historical and Cultural Reserve “The All-Ukrainian Museum City”, formed at the territory of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra (now the National Reserve “Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra”).
